Integrated solutions
The main challenge regarding Africa’s development lies in the capacity to create opportunities within the continent, i.e. in its rural areas where nearly 65% of Africans still live today. Only economic development ‘from within’ will put an end to migrations within and outside Africa, which are gradually destabilizing the continent and preventing it from taking advantage of its main asset, namely, African youth. The question of the development of rural areas, however, includes several issues to be addressed: training, access to essential facilities, ability to capitalize on most relevant economic activities, especially agriculture. The smart solar Ecosystem is designed as response to all these issues.
The smart solar Ecosystem is therefore primarily structured around a solar solution giving access to a clean and non-polluting energy, as Solektra considers that this step conditions any further development. The proposed solutions are generally of two kinds, the solar streetlights and solar charging stations which can supply other buildings and equipment. Additionally, the solar systems provides energy which can be used to provide government services, issuance of online government documents, digital health, digital banking, and digital literacy all essential of integration into global economy and the promotion of free movement of people, goods and services.
